It’s only a month to go until our honeymoon. We’re going to Italy in May for 18 nights, with a mix of city, coast and countryside. I’ve written more about the planning process here.
Now it’s time to start thinking about what to pack, and what may be missing from my wardrobe. Here is my honeymoon fashion wish list. If you have any suggestions for spring time in Italy please do comment below.
- Denim shorts
I get the feeling denim shorts will be a bit of a staple. They are very versatile, great for sightseeing, but also nice for a day at the beach. I love these from hush as they are not too short so don’t show off your bum!
2. Classic White Top
I love white tops, I think they look so classic. I’ve got my eye on this sleeveless shirt from ASOS as I think it will look nice dressed up or down.
3. Summer dress
Another white item! This Miss Selfridge dress is lovely, plus it’s in the sale. It would be great for nice lunches or meals out. If you can’t wear a white dress on your honeymoon then when can you?!
4. Beach Dress
Whilst we will be visiting a lot of cities on our Italy honeymoon, there will be a few days on the beach and we’ve booked some hotels with gorgeous pools, so a light cover up will be essential. I love the stripes on this one from ASOS, as well as the rope detail on the belt.
I’ve always loved the Ray Ban aviator style, and these are no exception! Plus they fold up really small, so that has got to be practical for all that travelling right?! Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to pick up a pair at the airport…
A honeymoon wishlist wouldn’t be complete without a bikini and I’m loving the Bikini Mixer on the Victorias Secret website. You basically select the style of top and bottoms you like, then choose the colour or pattern. It really is the ideal way to shop for a bikini as often you’ll find a set but not like the bottoms or the fit of the top etc. I put together this little set as I like a patterned top and plain bottoms, but there are so many options with something to suit everyone.
7. Leather Backpack
With all the sightseeing and inevitably walking, a practical bag is essential. However practical doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish! This light grey leather backpack from Ted Baker would be perfect for packing all your essentials for a day spent in Venice.
8. Comfortable Shoes
On the subject of walking, some comfortable shoes are also on my wishlist. These metallic crochet TOMS are ideal for pounding the pavements of Florence and Rome and pretty enough for pool or beach days too.
9. Lightweight blouse
As we are away for 18 nights, I need to make sure I pack items which are versatile and I can get a lot of wear out of. We are moving around lots of different hotels, so I don’t want to spend hours having to repack and lugging a 30kg suitcase on the trains in Italy. This light grey blouse from ASOS can easily be dressed up or down with the right accessories.
10. Cami Top
I’m hoping it will be pretty nice weather in Italy in May, so a few cami tops will also be making their way into my suitcase. I love love love these from Topshop. They are so simple, but the double strap at the back gives that little bit extra. They come in lots of different colours too and aren’t too expensive at £16 each.
