A Simple DIY Idea for Wedding Favours

I found it quite difficult to decide on favours for our wedding. There are lots of great ideas out there, but I didn’t want to spend lots of money on something that people wouldn’t want. I wanted something simple, but that most people would enjoy.

In the end we decided on a little bag with marshmallows on sticks for our guests to toast on the open fire (we had a teepee wedding).  We filled the bags up with some of favourite pick and mix style sweets, including giant strawbs, foam hearts, love hearts and flying saucers. A wedding can be a long day, so these favours provided a sugar boost to guests who needed it!

Wedding favours - sweets

These were a really simple DIY. We ordered the clear cellophane bags from eBay. I hunted for ages to make sure they had a flat bottom to be able to stand them up in each table setting! We also ordered a huge bag of bamboo skewers, which my mother in law patiently wrote “toast me” on all 200!  We picked our favourite sweets and ordered them in bulk from Amazon. In total we spent about £60 on favours for 100 people, with some of our supplies left over.
